Marine Corps Birthday Ball
Sponsorship Information/Registration

Sponsors,
The Marine Corps League, LCpl Jacob D. Hayes Detachment #1426, is excited to announce that the 248th Marine Corps Birthday Ball will be held at the new Omni PGA Frisco Resort on November 18th, 2023. Our Detachment is once again looking forward to inviting the local community in joining us for this elegant evening rich in military history, tradition, and ceremony.
The Marine Corps League exists to foster camaraderie and fellowship among Marines, FMF Corpsmen, family, and friends of the Corps; to promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy; to voluntarily render aid & assistance to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and their families; to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps, and by fitting acts, to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions which hold particular interest to Marines.
In keeping with our tradition of bringing amazing speakers, to help us celebrate the Marine Corps Birthday, our Guest of Honor this year will be local hero Commander Michael E. Thornton. Commander Thornton received the Medal of Honor for his actions as a Navy Seal in Vietnam. Commander Thornton is the first person in more than a century to receive the Medal of Honor for saving the life of another Medal of Honor recipient, SEAL Lieutenant Tom Norris. Commander Thornton also went on to be one of the founding members of SEAL team 6.
The Marine Corps Birthday Ball serves as a fundraising event for the Collin County Marine Corps League. All funds that we raise help assist us in our mission of supporting local Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and their families; plus allows us to support other veteran initiatives in line with our mission. Over the past three years the Marine Corps League of Collin County has been able to:
-
Provided approximately $15,000 in financial assistance to Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and their families
-
Supported our Toys For Tots campaign which provided approximately 150,000 toys to children in Collin County.
-
Provided over $10,000 in scholarships, with an additional $7500 set to be provided this year.
-
Donated over $20,000 towards other projects and organizations such as:
-
The Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in Frisco
-
Homeless Veterans Services of Dallas
-
Fallen Warriors Portrait Project
-
Save The Brave Woody Williams Foundation
-
Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center
-
One Tribe Foundation's W.A.T.C.H. program
-
and many more
-
It is only with the amazing support of the local community, including local businesses, organizations, and political leaders that we are able to accomplish our mission and enrich the community we serve. The Marine Corps League is once again seeking sponsors for this year’s Marine Corps Birthday Ball; not only to join us in celebration at this unique military event, but also to support us in our mission of serving local Marines, FMF Corpsmen their families, and other veteran causes that make the community a better place for all.
We hope to secure sponsors early this year so that we can recognize and promote their support and patriotism as we are promoting regular ticket sales through radio, print (posters and letters), and online promotions.
