Plano Balloon Festival

September 17-19th, 2021

We are excited to be a part of the Plano Balloon Festival this year. It will be a weekend full of entertainment and things to do for the whole family.

The main attraction of course is the 30 hot air balloons of various shapes and sizes. There are also races; a 10k, 5k and 1k fun run/walk. The fun doesn't stop there. Enjoy balloon rides, live music, a kid zone with rides & other activities, sky divers, food, vendors, and more.

The Marine Corps League will be set up with informational material about who we are, what we do and how you can become a member or support the League.

We will also have our full selections of military/veteran themed hats, challenge coins, T-shirts, water bottles, koozies, other items, and of course raffle tickets for our current raffle. Come by our booth to support local veterans

The Marines were born in a bar and the German's thought we fought like mythical hounds of Hell a.k.a. "Devil Dogs."  We like beer and our Germen given nickname, why wouldn't we be there? This will be our 5th year at the McKinney Oktoberfest. We can't wait.

246th Marine Corps Birthday Ball

November 13th, 2021

We look forward to being able to share this Marine Corps tradition again after having to cancel last year.  Again we are inviting the local community to join us for this elegant evening of rich military history, tradition, and ceremony.

The Marine Corps Birthday Ball is our biggest event of the year and serves the purpose of carrying on history and tradition. The Ball also serves as a major fundraising event for the Collin County Marine Corps League.  Funds raised through this event assist us in our mission of supporting local Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and their families.  It also allows us to support other veteran initiatives that are in line with our mission.  For far this year the Marine Corps League of Collin County has provided financial assistance to several Marines, supported the Homeless Veterans Services of Dallas, donated to erecting the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in Frisco, and awarded three $1500 scholarships. Funds raised by the detachment also helped support our Toys For Tots campaign, that provided a Christmas to over 21,000 children in Collin County this past season during the pandemic.

The detachment plans to open regular ticket sales on July 4th. We are currently seeking sponsors.  For more information about the Marine Corps League, the Marine Corps Birthday Ball or sponsoring this unique event and supporting Marines, FMF Corpsmen, their families plus other veteran initiatives please contact Noe DeLeon. Phone: (214) 207-9093 email: Noe@NoeDeLeon.com or Nathan Hanson. Phone 940-390-7992  email: Admin@CollinMCL.org

The members of the Marine Corps League, LCpl Jacob D. Hayes Detachment hope to enjoy your presence on November 13th at the Hilton at Granite Park.  We look forward to sharing this sacred Marine Corps tradition with our community once again.  Thank you for your time and support of the Marine Corps League, LCpl Jacob D. Hayes Detachment.
